L. A. Marzulli will appear on the Power Hour from 8am to 10am today!

Today marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day.  My father landed on the beaches of Normandy, he was a lieutenant with the 90th Division, and only 23 years old.

He landed on Utah Red, in a troop carrier similar to the one in the picture above, and fortunately for him and the others in his outfit, there was not much resistance getting on the beach, like there was at Omaha.

However once inland about a mile from the coast they encountered heavy fighting.  It was here that he sustained the first of his two purple hearts.  (He also received the Bronze Star.)
