“Strength That Trusts ~GOD~”

We see Great Accomplishments throughout the Bible where there is Great Faith in ~GOD~. We also see failure where there is lack of Faith in ~GOD~. It is one thing to say ~GOD~ is my Strength and I will Trust in Him; it is another to be in a place of Faith and Trust. When Abraham failed to Trust ~GOD~, he lied to the Egyptians about Sarah. When Abraham Trusted ~GOD~ with his Beloved son, Isaac, upon an altar, he Truly began to Step into his Destiny with ~GOD~…

When the nation of Israel failed to Trust ~GOD~, they were NOT allowed to enter into the Promised Land. Forty years later, when they Trusted ~GOD~, a new generation went into the Promised Land led by Joshua and Caleb, who had Faith in ~GOD’s~ Ability to Defeat the enemy…

The lack of Faith throughout the Israelite army allowed a nine foot goliath to send fear into the army of ~GOD~, making them a cowardly bunch of men. Through Faith in ~GOD~, a small shepherd boy Defeated a giant and set an entire army Free…

When Elijah Trusted ~GOD~, he Won one of the most Astounding Battles—Defeating over 400 prophets of baal. When Peter Trusted ~GOD~, he Achieved a feat no other man had accomplished—walking on water. The significance is NOT walking on water, but Faith in ~GOD~. In every case, where Faith is the ingredient, Faith makes the difference. It is NOT Faith in us, but in ~GOD~ that will Always carry us through. Doubt will Always sink us, but we get to choose whether we Rise to the occasion, or sink. Faith in ~GOD~ ALWAYS makes the difference…

*Titanic Heroes*

Reverend John Harper:

(1872—1912)

Rev. Harper was a Baptist pastor from Great Britain who died in the Titanic disaster on the North Atlantic. Rev. Harper was born in the village of Houston, Renfrewshire, Scotland, in 1872. He personally embraced his parents’ Christian Faith at age 14 and began preaching at 18. He supported himself in early adulthood by doing manual labor in a mill until Baptist pastor E.A. Carter of Baptist Pioneer Mission in London heard of his preaching and placed him in ministry work in Govan, Scotland. In 1897, he became the first pastor of Paisley Road Baptist Church in Glasgow, Scotland. Under his Leadership, the church quickly grew from 25 members to over 500 and soon moved to a new location on Plantation Street. In 1922, it moved into its present building on Craigiehall Street and was renamed, “Harper Memorial Baptist Church” in his honor…

At the time of the Titanic disaster, Rev. Harper was 39, a widower with a six—year—old daughter, Annie Jessie (Nana), and pastor of Walworth Road Baptist Church in London. He was traveling with his daughter and sister in—law Jessie W. Leitch to Chicago to preach for several weeks at the Moody Memorial Church, where he had been a guest minister the previous fall, when the ship hit an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912 and was lost early the next morning. His daughter and sister were put on a lifeboat and survived, but Rev. Harper stayed behind and jumped into the water as the ship began to sink. Some who survived told that, “Rev. Harper Preached The Gospel To The End” crying out:

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house…”

~JESUS~ never said it would be easy following Him on the path of Righteousness. In fact, He said that His followers would be Hated for His name sake. Sometimes as King James Holy Bible, Believing, Preaching, Teaching, and Practicing Christians we have to do things that our worldly flesh just doesn’t agree with. However, if we are Truly Born Again by The Blood and Saving Grace of Christ ~JESUS~, we have to do what is Pleasing to ~GOD~ and Not to our Selfish Pride…

It is no surprise that not everything that comes our way is what we want. Yes, in fact, in life we deal with many problems—opportunities. The difference between a problem and an opportunity is how we look at the issue. In the Christian walk of Faith, we are Not promised everything will be easy. As a matter of Fact, we are told we will be Tested, Tried and Persecuted…

~JESUS~ said:

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved…”

‭‭{Mark‬ ‭13:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬}

We will go through the Fire, but we will come out as Pure—Gold. There will Not be more put on us than we can stand, but with every Test, a way of Escape…

How can we be made into The Likeness and The Image of ~GOD~ if the old man—woman is Not Crucified? We are instructed to put off the old man and put on the new, which is in Christ ~JESUS~. We are to be as a vessel in The Potter’s Hand to be Molded into The Desires and Image of The Potter. We are His workmanship. We are Not our own. While none of us enjoy the Molding and Pruning process, it is necessary in order for us to become Christ Like. This process is what helps us to Grow in our Relationship with ~GOD~. At the same time, know most assuredly by Faith, that ~GOD~ will meet the needs of other people just like He has for us…

Sometimes I become more concerned about my comfort than ~GOD’s~ will, then The Holy Spirit always refocuses me (which I am very thankful for). Could it be ~GOD’s~ ultimate goal for our life on earth is Not comfort, but Character Development? I personally do not enjoy going through the Fire, but I thank ~GOD~ that He puts me through the Fire in order to develop my character. In this I benefit in the ability to point others to Christ with assurance that He will Transform them as He has Transformed me…

Be still, and know that I am ~GOD~. When we are in ~GOD’s~ presence, there is perfect peace. In the fast paced lives we live, peace is a precious commodity. Everywhere I go and every place I minister, I meet people who are stressed with the cares and the pressures of this life. It would seem the number one issue of life is anxiety or anxiousness that produces fear and robs us of the peace of ~GOD~…

Throughout ~JESUS’~ earthly ministry, He pointed the hurting to the peace of ~GOD~. He spoke peace into the storm on a raging sea. He spoke peace into a man called Legion. He spoke peace to the Samaritan woman at the well. He spoke peace to Lazarus and his family. He spoke peace and hope into the lives of the people He touched. Today He speaks peace to every individual who would be willing to receive…

In order for us to sense the peace of ~GOD~, we need to take time each day and do as verse—10 says, Be Still. For it is in the stillness and quietness that we experience the presence of ~GOD~. It is at this time we come to know ~GOD~ as a Friend, a Savior and The Only One we can trust All of the cares of this life to. I challenge you to take a few moments today and just be still and think about the Goodness of ~GOD~. In that stillness, may He remind you He is ~GOD~! It is at these times that we build a relationship with ~GOD~. May His peace and His presence go with you today…
