“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judæa, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judæa, and all the region round about Jordan, and were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased…”

John The Baptist came with a simple but [URGENT] message,

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!!!”

His calling was [NOT] to draw attention to himself, but to prepare the hearts of Lost Souls for the coming of ~JESUS~ Christ of Nazareth. True Repentance is more than just feeling sorry for our sins. It is supposed to be a complete change of heart that results in a changed Life. John The Baptist reminded people that Genuine Faith Produces Righteous Fruit, and that outward religion or family heritage could Never replace a Sincere Personal Relationship With ~GOD~ Almighty…

John The Baptist also displayed remarkable Humility. Though multitudes of people followed him, he declared that Christ was Much Greater than himself, by saying that he was [NOT] even worthy to carry The Lord’s shoes. His Life teaches us that our Greatest Purpose is to point Lost Souls to ~JESUS~ Christ of Nazareth and [NOT] to ourselves…

When ~JESUS~ was Baptized, though He was without sin, He fulfilled [ALL] Righteousness and identified Himself with those He came to Save. ~GOD~ The ~FATHER~ declared,

“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!!!”

while ~THE HOLY SPIRIT~ descended upon ~GOD~ The ~SON~ like a dove. This Glorious moment reveals The ~FATHER’s~ Approval of His ~SON~ and reminds us that ~JESUS~ Christ of Nazareth is The Promised ~MESSIAH~ of Whom we are [ALL] called to follow…

Today, The Lord still calls upon us to Prepare our hearts, Turn away from sin, Walk in Complete Obedience, and bear Righteous Fruit that Honors and Glorifies Him. As we keep our eyes upon Christ, we can Live Lives that bring Glory to The One who came to Save us [ALL]…

Prayer:

Father ~JESUS~,

Lord—Thank You for sending John The Baptist to prepare the way for Your Arrival…

Search my heart and Remove anything that keeps me from walking closely with You…

Grant me True Repentance that bears the Fruit of Obedience, Humility, and Righteousness…

Help me, to point Lost Souls to You and to Exalt You Above everything, everyone, and especially myself…

Thank You for Your Loving Sacrifice that fulfilled [ALL] Righteousness and made The [ONLY] Way for my Salvation…

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Strengthen me to Resist the devil and Live each and everyday in a manner that is Pleasing to You…

“And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; and ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; that the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him. And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever. And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision. Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I. And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee. And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good. And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD…”

This passage of scripture describes what happened during the night in The Temple at Shiloh when ~GOD~ called upon Samuel to Serve as a Prophet. Samuel, who was serving under The Priest Eli, mistook ~GOD’s~ voice for Eli’s at first. Eli eventually realized that it was The ~LORD~ Calling Samuel and instructed him on how to respond to The ~LORD~ the next time he heard The ~LORD~ calling him. The next time ~GOD~ called upon Samuel he replied as instructed, and ~GOD~ delivered a message to him about passing judgment on Eli’s house…

Prayer:

Father ~JESUS~,

Lord—Thank You for calling [ALL] of Your Faithful Servants into You’re Glorious Eternal Service and speaking to us through Your Precious Holy Word…

Please give me a Willing heart like Samuel’s, that is Humble, Attentive, Eager to Learn, and Ready to Answer when You call upon me…

Like him, I often lie down in the quiet of the Night or the busyness of Life, [NOT] Always recognizing Your voice at first…

Lord, open my ears to hear You clearly…

Help me to Recognize Your voice above [ALL] others and to Obey You with Faith and Courage, even when Your message is difficult to receive or share…

Teach me to Respond to You as Samuel did…

“Speak, ~LORD~ For Thy Servant Heareth”

Help me to speak Your Truth Faithfully, hiding nothing, and Trust that You will establish Your Holy Word in my life…

May my Faith and Trust in You ~LORD~ grow in Your Presence, and may others around me see that You dwell within my heart and Guide my Life…

Keep my heart Faithful to Only You, my Life Pure, and my ears open to Your Leading…

May none of The Holy Words that You place in my heart and mouth fall to the ground…

Let my life bring Honor and Glory to You and be a Living Testimony of Your Loving Mercy and Grace…

“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: so that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come…”

The Thessalonian believers were young in Faith, yet their lives rang Loudly with The Gospel of ~JESUS~ Christ of Nazareth. The Apostle Paul thanks ~GOD~ not for what they claimed, but for what their Faith openly produced for [ALL] to see. Their Works of Faith, Labor of Love, and Patience of Hope were on public display throughout their daily lives. Real Faith Always Moves, Real Love Always Serves, and Real Hope Always Endures…

Their Faith, Trust, and Belief in ~JESUS~ was Unmistakable and Undeniable. They Repented and turned to The True ~GOD~ in Heaven from false idols here on earth. Not halfway, Not secretly, but Completely and Publicly. They embraced Christ even in affliction, and yet their hearts were filled with Joy of The Holy Ghost. That Joy wasn’t based upon comfort; it was Rooted in Assurance…

So Powerful was their Testimony that The Word of The Lord “SOUNDED OUT” from them. They didn’t need a platform or a pulpit to preach from because their Transformed Lives became a Living Example of The Gospel. All of this came from The–One–Great–Hope in waiting for ~GOD’s~ Only Begotten Son from Heaven, ~JESUS~ Christ of Nazareth, who was Raised from the dead and Delivers His followers from the wrath to come…

This passage of scripture reminds us that Christianity is [NOT] merely believing in the right Biblical things, but it’s Actively Living a Changed Life that Reflects the teachings of The Holy Bible while waiting and watching with Great Anticipation for our Lord and Savior’s Glorious–Triumphant–Return!!!

Prayer:

Father ~JESUS~,

Lord—I thank You for Your Free Gift of Pardon, Grace, and Peace by Your Finished Works on The Cross at Calvary…

Please help my Faith [NOT] to be just empty words, but instead Heavenly Works through Obedience to Your Sovereign Authority…

Teach me to Live and Love Sacrificially in ways that cost me something, and to endure hardship with Hope as I wait for Your Return from Heaven…

Turn my heart and mind fully from each and every false idol here in this wicked–sinful–world, and set my Life apart from Non–Believers to Serve and Glorify You and Only You, The One–And–Only–True–Living–Loving–Holy ~GOD~…

May my Testimony Sound Out, Not for My glory, but for ~YOUR’S~…

I rejoice in the Fact that You have Delivered [ALL] of Your Believers and Followers from the wrath to come, and I Trust in Your Promised Return with Confidence and Great Joy…
